This workshop is perfect for those coming fresh out of The Mask and Clown Intensive (Baby Clown) or for those who seek to reacquaint themselves with the foundations of this style. The worlds of the masks and colours are expanded upon (including the establishment of the gesture work) to deepen the student’s relationship with them as both a source for material and as character for performance. These 3 days will emphasize exploration and creation, enabling the performer to move to the next level which is creating a turn.

Prerequisites: The Pochinko-style Mask and Clown Intensive (Baby Clown) or Clown Through Mask (6 masks) .

Workshop 2: Creation and Performance Workshop for Turns
Friday, Jan 26, 6 pm – 10 pm
Saturday, Jan 27, 1:30 pm – 8 pm
Sunday, Jan 28, 10 pm – 5 pm
$300.00 + $39.00 = $339.00 (17 hours)
(Take both workshops for $500.00 + $65.00 HST = $565.00)

This workshop will continue with the work begun in Stretch and Strengthen with a stronger emphasis on the development and execution of a Turn. Each day will consist of a warm up, exploring aspects of creation, and working through clown turns. There will also be exercises, discussions, and the exploration of themes that arise out of the class. Students will be able and encouraged to explore a broader application of the clown work including but not limited to spoken text, song, dance, bouffon, and a synthesis of any of the above. Students will be challenged and are expected to do prep-work before this workshop. Additional studio time will be available for students throughout the weekend.

Prerequisites: The Pochinko-style Mask and Clown Intensive (Baby Clown) or Clown Through Mask (6 masks).
